Dual Award Programme fees

Dual Award Programme 2022-2026 tuition fees

HELBUS Helsinki School of Business works in partnership with The Finnish Institute for Enterprise Management (Suomen Yrittäjäopisto SYO) to offer international non-EU applicants the possibility to study on-site in a Dual Award Programme. The last confirmed intake for this programme is September 2024 and HELBUS no longer processes applications to this programme.

Non-EU citizens (without a residence permit) – BA (Hons) Dual Award

September 2024 (full-time programme), euros:

BA (Hons) Dual Award Sum, € Payment schedule for non-EU citizens
1. year 12 997€ March 2024 (VAT 24 %)
2. year 6 567€*2 March, August 2025 (VAT 25,5%)
3. year 6 567€*2 January, March 2026 (VAT 25,5%)
In total 39 265€

Due to having three terms in a calendar year, the second-year studies in the full-time programme start already in the Summer term, around April, after the fall and spring term. Non-EU students, who need a student residence permit for the duration of their studies, must pay their first year’s tuition fee before applying for a residence permit. If a non-EU student has a residence permit for other reasons such as family for the full duration of their studies, they can follow the payment schedule for Finnish/EU students. Students commit to following the fee and payment schedule in their student agreement notwithstanding any changes in their residence status after starting studies.

Non-EU citizens (without a residence permit) – MBA Dual Award

The tuition fee for the Academic Year 24/25 (September 2024, January 2025) is € 29 800 for the whole programme. Payment is in two instalments. The first instalment must be paid before the residence permit application process is started.

Important information for all students

  • All students should have a laptop with MS Office installed and internet access. The tuition fee covers the tuition and a wide range of electronic learning materials. Textbooks are not included.
  • HELBUS reserves the right to change the fees. All fees stated here include a VAT of 25,5 %. If the VAT increases, the fees will increase respectively. If the VAT decreases, there will not be a corresponding decrease of the tuition fee.
  • Cancellation policy: You can cancel your participation in the programme by email before the due date of your first tuition fee invoice. However, tuition fees that have already been paid will not be returned. Your tuition fee payment will be returned to the payer only if your residence permit decision from the Finnish Immigration Service is negative and you inform HELBUS about this decision with evidence.
  • About repeating units/modules
    • BA (Hons) If the student must retake a unit in the next year, or transfer to the online programme for a given unit, a 200-250 euro retake/transfer fee will be administered per unit. • MBA: If the student must retake a unit in the next year, the retake fee in Academic Year 2024/25 is € 2 125 per module (€ 2 900 for non-EU students). Details are found in the written contract signed by the student at the beginning of studies.

  • If attending the full-time programme, you should budget at least €1.000 per month for living costs in Helsinki, although this cost will depend on your accommodation and lifestyle.

Why does HELBUS have tuition fees?

As HELBUS is a private business school, it receives no state support. HELBUS funds its operations entirely through tuition fees.

The good news is that by studying with HELBUS it is likely that your overall cost for the Bachelor’s degree will be lower than if you studied the three years in the UK! In the UK, students who are not British, often pay at least €50.000 for the tuition of three years, whereas in HELBUS your tuition fee for an undergraduate degree will be well below that.

An academic degree is an investment in yourself and your future. Research in Finland has shown that a university degree will increase Finn’s lifetime net earnings by an average of €312.000 compared to someone who does not have a degree. You will graduate more quickly than your peers in traditional universities, and thereby start recouping your investment earlier.
